The National DNA Database Annual Report for the two years 2007-2009 has been published. The number of crimes detected using DNA has fallen, despite the increasing size of the Database. Read the reports in the Telegraph, Guardian and Times.

The Equalities and Human Rights Commission has given Chief Constables 28 days notice to change their guidance on removing innocent people’s DNA records, in order to comply with human rights law. This means the police may have to take more notice of your letters. We will update this website if the guidance changes.
